Chapter 11
Sasuke's Birthday

Sakura woke up the next day to see Sasuke sitting on the end of the bed with his head in his hands, muttering, “What did I do?” over and over.

Sakura crawled up next to Sasuke and leaned on his shoulder, Sasuke flinched and looked down at her, “What do you want?” Sasuke muttered glaring at Sakura.

“Just to tell you.....” Sakura reached her arms around Sasuke and hugged him, “Happy birthday!!”

Sasuke just looked down at her then he stood up, “Let's go...” he walked out of the room and down to the kitchen, Sakura swallowed then followed him down. She walked into the kitchen to see Sasuke grab a granola bar and then walk out the back door. Sakura sat down at the table and thought, 'Why would Sasuke be so mad? All I did was keep the party secret....'

Outside Sasuke was walking around in the garden eating his granola bar. “What the heck is she hiding from me?” Sasuke muttered quietly, he finished his granola bar and walked around more until he heard Sakura open the door.

“Sasuke? We should get going, it's almost time for the—movie! Yeah, we're going to go watch a movie at Ino's!! Let's go!” Sakura grabbed Sasuke's hand and hoped he hadn't figured it out.

'What the heck is she talking about? What movie?' Sasuke thought as he was dragged to Ino's house. He didn't have much say in the matter.....

They got to Ino's house quickly, they saw that all the lights were off, but they walked in slowly and Sasuke stepped forward first to make sure nothing was there for Sakura to trip over, but to his disappointment, there was something there and he tripped over it. He turned around as the lights flickered on to see he had tripped over Naruto. Naruto just sat there grinning at Sasuke until they both heard a loud, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY SASUKE!!!!!!!”

Everyone jumped out and hugged him, Sasuke just stood there in the enormous hug silently......

Sasuke was losing himself quick, to quick. “GET OFF ME!!!!!!!” Sasuke shouted making everyone immediately jump back from him in horror. Now they were all standing around him watching. He looked over at Sakura, Ino, then Naruto, “You did this....” Sasuke muttered then he turned to walk out the door only to be stopped by.......Sai.

Sai had been on a mission for the past week and just came back for Sasuke's birthday, “Where do you think you're going?” He asked still smiling while guarding the door from Sasuke.

“Nowhere.” Sasuke muttered walking back to everyone focusing his cold glare on everyone that said a word.

“That's what I thought.” Sai smiled as he triumphantly walked back to stand by Naruto.

“Great job Sai!” Naruto held up a hand for a high five which Sai never returned, but instead he simply replied.......
“You're welcome dickless.” Sai smiled as Naruto lost his within seconds.

“Stop calling me that!!!” Naruto yelled throwing random punches at Sai which he dodged easily. Sai knelt down and opened a scroll, right as he touched the paintbrush to it they heard a loud screech. Everyone looked over to where the sound came from and saw Sakura stand there with anger in her eyes.

“Stop it you two!!” Sakura screamed loudly, “You do this all the time! Why not take a break from it on Sasuke's birthday! Just STOP!!”

Naruto and Sai backed away from each other to opposite sides of the room

“Thank you...” Sakura smiled and called out, “Cake time!!!”

Everyone ran to the kitchen, Chouji in front, and they put 19 candles in the cake to mark the age Sasuke is now....

Slowly, but surely Sasuke walked up to the front to see the unlit candles, everyone started singing as Sasuke stood there,  once the song ended Sasuke did a small fire jutsu and lit the candles. Sakura stood across from him and blew out the candles, “Will you forgive me?” Sakura asked looking into Sasuke's deep onyx eyes.

“Forgive and forget.” Sasuke smiled as he leaned over to kiss Sakura's lips. He put his hands on the side of her face and kissed her harder and longer.

They parted, once they did thunderous amounts of claps and whistles came from every part of the small room. Sasuke and Sakura just looked at each other smiling, “Thank you Sasuke...” Sakura smiled as she reached her hand down.....down to the table and grabbed an enormous amount of cake and shoved it in Sasuke's face. A low grumble rumbled in Sasuke's chest, then threw some at her. Within moments everyone had joined in and were covered in chocolate cake.  Once the fight had come to a stop Choji's lower lip stuck out in a pout, “No cake?” his lip started to quiver but Sakura placed her hand over his mouth and smiled, “I brought an extra.”
She moved her hand to walk over to a cupboard. She reached in and pulled her hand back out with another large blue cake.

Sakura served pieces of the cake to everyone then Sasuke slowly glided up behind her and slipped his arms over her shoulders and smirked, “I love you.”

Sakura turned to look into Sasuke's face, “ I love you too.” They kissed for a short time then parted.

Everyone ate their cake and played games. The party lasted for the rest of the day full of fun party games and activities. It was around eleven o'clock at night by the time they got to the presents. Sasuke had gotten fairly large quantities of kunai, shirts, and pictures. The one thing he didn't get was a present from Sakura. He thanked everyone for the party and the gifts then he glanced to Sakura and mouthed the words, “Let's go.”

Sakura got up from her chair slowly so that her stomach wouldn't get upset. She waled over to Sasuke and grabbed his hand. It was quiet until Sasuke's voice finally broke the awkward silence, “Hey Sakura. Why didn't you get me a gift?”
Sakura smiled then went a slightly faster pace up to the house with Sasuke right behind her. They reached the house and Sasuke hugged Sakura against his chest as he walked up to the door with her feet on his. He opened the door then they went to their room. Sakura laid on the bed and looked up at Sasuke, she stood back up and walked out of the room once more. She walked back into the room with the gifts in her hands.
She sat on the bed and handed the bag to Sasuke, “Happy Birthday.” Sakura kissed his cheek then leaned her head onto his shoulder.
Sasuke slowly opened the present, he pulled out the blue T-shirt, the red T-shirt, two pairs of shoes, and a small black box. He slowly opened the box lifting one corner at a time, when the lid was off he saw two kunai that had his name etched into the handles. Under the kunai was a picture, the picture was face down so he lifted it up so he could see it. It was a picture of Sakura and himself at their wedding. Sakura looked so much more beautiful than his memories had given her credit for. He looked up from the picture then smiled at Sakura, “Thank you...”

Sakura hugged him and smiled. Sakura yawned then laid back into the bed. Sasuke stood up and put the gifts on a shelf, he looked at the picture for one short moment then walked back to the bed and bent down the kiss Sakura's forehead. “You have your first ultrasound tomorrow.”

“I know...” Sakura sat up then walked into the bathroom to take a shower. She finished then Sasuke took his turn. Sasuke walked back out to see Sakura laying on her side in bed. He looked at her and realized she was looking outside the window.


“Hey Sasuke, the stars are really pretty tonight...”

“Yeah...” Sasuke mumbled then slid into bed behind her and pulled the blanket over both of them. He rubbed her arm with his cool hands then he leaned forward so his mouth was by her ear, “Don't worry... I've heard the doctor's really nice.”

“How do you know they aren't lies that you've heard?” Sakura mumbled hiding her face in the blanket.

“She's the doctor my mom had.... My mom talked about her constantly. She even had me go meet her a few times. Now she has been my doctor for a while so I think I'd know if I can trust her with my wife or not.” Sasuke smirked and kissed Sakura's hair lightly, “Now go to sleep... It's better that way...” Sasuke fell asleep in a few seconds while Sakura still stared at the starry sky outside the window.

“I hope you're right.....” Sakura whispered then closed her eyes and drifted into a dreamless sleep.....
